Background/History of NTXIH

NTXIH was incorporated May 25, 2016 by Dr. Sharolyn K. Dihigo, a Doctorally prepared, certified nurse practitioner.  She began implementing her vision to practice in anticipation of completion of her post masters certificate as family nurse practitioner after being a pediatric nurse practitioner for over 25 years. She became double board certified in October of 2017 in pediatric and family medicine after serving as a professor and Director of the Doctor of Nursing Practice and Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Programs at the University of Texas Arlington.

Dr. Dihigo’s own health journey inspired her to expand her knowledge, expertise, and research into areas focused on the Epstein Barr Virus (EBV), Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS), Hypothyroidism, Adrenal Insufficiency, and Hormone Imbalances.  She has studied energy production and the recycling of adenosine triphosphate (ATP), oxidative stress, and antioxidants extensively.  She has created a formula and program for treating CFS secondary to EBV.

Dr. Dihigo is also well versed in leaky gut protocols, testing for food sensitivities, natural treatments for hypertension and hypercholesterolemia, and practices a functional approach to mental illness.  She is known for implementing the Bredesen Protocol for treating Alzheimer’s Disease and continues to study Parkinson’s Disease and root causes of both diseases.  Her Master’s Degree included research into root causes of the colicky baby, and her doctoral work included working with children and adolescents with learning disorders, language disorders, anxiety, depression, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, and other mental health focused topics.  She completed an additional post doctoral fellowship in mental health.

Dr. Dihigo has continued to learn, research, and expand her education and knowledge of traditional Western medicine, Functional Medicine, Integrative and Precision Medicine through use of genetics, genomics, and nutraceuticals to help individuals achieve better health outcomes.  Dr. Dihigo is known for being a “medical detective” and figuring out complex relationships, the interplay of genetics, and lifestyle factors to help others achieve optimal health.
